Ahhh…Fall

We are 10 days into September and it definately feels like fall in the Okanagan.  Like the majority of us, I am ready for cozy sweaters, warm drinks, everything pumpkin and cinnimon. I even ordered Jenny Mustard’s new book Simple Matters: A Scandinavian’s Approach to Work, Home, and Style.
In such a small town there are not many options for updating and rounding out my basic fall wardobe, so naturally I spent way too much online!  This season I am definately feeling quite the opposite of what I am seeing on Fashion Week Instagram feeds all day with the heavy 80’s influence, neon colors, chunky sneakers, etc.  The fall weather is bringing me back to dark cozy basics, simple cuts, colors and layers.

I recently made some purchases from LilySilk, The Bay and my most frequented shopping site Amazon.ca.

Nothing quite feels as nice, luxurious and comfortable as a silk top or dress. From Lilysilk I picked up this simple black midi dress, gorgeous green silk and lace cami and a basic black cami. They are actually having a sale right now on a bunch of their silk clothing and I am thinking of picking up another cami and possibly this super versitile LBD.

From The Bay I purchased a couple of staple blazers (1 & 2 in Gray), some over the knee boots and a beautiful coat (that I hope is just as beautiful once I get it as I am hoping it is!). I am always a bit sad when I visit The Bay in Penticton as it seems so forgotten and abandoned. I hope they can revitalize it and bring in some of more Scandinavian designs and sustainable brands.

I purchased some basic white tee’s and a cute pair of shoes from Amazon.

Next I think I will be looking into some new simple cozy furniture like maybe a new couch …

I hope you are enjoying the beginning of fall!
